We name our litters alphabetically. Each litter is assigned a letter of the alphabet, and every puppy born in that litter receives a registered name beginning with that letter. For example, puppies from our “K” litter would all have names beginning with K. This tradition helps us identify and keep track of each Haus-Neufus litter and the dogs produced through our breeding program.

Yes. Haus-Neufus offers puppy transportation throughout the continental United States. We are located near Columbus, Ohio, and puppies can be transported through a company located at the Columbus airport. We personally bring the puppy to the airport and take care of the necessary paperwork. Flying a puppy typically costs $550–$800, which includes the crate and health certificate. Yes. Our German Shepherd puppies are microchipped before going to their new homes.

Yes. DNA and genetic testing are part of our German Shepherd breeding program. Health information and available testing results for our individual sires and dams can be found on their dog profile pages.

Haus-Neufus typically has 2–4 German Shepherd litters per year. Because we plan a limited number of breedings, puppy availability varies throughout the year. Families interested in a future puppy can review our upcoming litters or join our waiting list.

Yes. Our Long Coat German Shepherd breeding dogs receive hip and elbow evaluations as part of our health testing program. Individual health results and certifications are listed on our dogs' profile pages.

Our German Shepherds are AKC and/or USCA registered. AKC stands for the American Kennel Club, while USCA stands for the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. Haus-Neufus participates in USCA events because of the organization's strong emphasis on German Shepherd conformation, working ability, training, and breed-specific standards. Many of our German Shepherds have also earned titles and evaluations under USCA judges and German SV judges.

A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve a place in one of our German Shepherd litters. Deposits are accepted only after a phone consultation and completion of our puppy questionnaire.

Our Long Coat German Shepherd puppies are $3,500 and up. Pricing may vary depending on the pedigree and breeding pair behind a particular litter. Please contact Haus-Neufus or review the specific litter for current pricing and availability.

Deposits are non-refundable if you decide not to purchase a puppy. However, if Haus-Neufus is unable to provide a puppy according to the terms of your contract, your deposit may be refunded. Your deposit may also be transferred toward a puppy from a different litter.

Yes. Our waiting list is available for families interested in a future Haus-Neufus German Shepherd puppy who are not yet ready to place a deposit. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a puppy or reservation position, but we will notify waiting-list families around the time of breeding and provide an opportunity to place a deposit before puppies are offered more broadly.

Yes. We understand that circumstances and timing can change. Your deposit can be applied toward a puppy from a future Haus-Neufus litter.

If there are not enough puppies born in your selected litter for you to receive a puppy, your deposit can be transferred to another Haus-Neufus litter of your choice.

Yes. If you have placed a deposit, you may select your puppy's everyday call name. Haus-Neufus registers our puppies using the Vom Haus Neufus kennel name, and all puppies will have VHN included in their registered name. This naming system helps us track the dogs we produce throughout their lives, including titles, health certifications, and other accomplishments.

Yes. Once you have placed a deposit on a Haus-Neufus puppy, you are welcome to schedule a visit. Our German Shepherd puppies are raised in our private home, so all visits are available by appointment only.

Puppies must be paid in full when they reach 8 weeks of age. The $1,000 reservation deposit is applied toward the purchase of your puppy.

The order of puppy selections is based on the dates deposits are received, along with the type of home the puppy will be going to, such as a working, sport, or pet home. Our goal is to help place each puppy in an appropriate home.

Yes. Haus-Neufus considers both pet and working or sport homes when placing puppies. The intended home and the individual puppy's qualities are considered as part of the selection process.
